Title Warrior of the Wild
Author Tricia Levenseller
Section Covered Part II – The Wild (Chapters 6-14)
Initial Thoughts
Part I – The Trial, ended on a cliffhanger-esque note. I knew Rasmira was going into the Wild, but I didn’t know what she was going to encounter. Part I was purposefully vague about the Wild which built a lot of suspense. It’s very difficult to pry myself away from this book to write these posts. But, I want my reactions and hopes to be authentic so, I have to stop between each section to write. Overall, I was very excited to read the next section.
Favorite Character
Iric – I love all of his sass. And, I loved his backstory. I do think he’s being a little petty blaming Soren for his choice that caused him to be banished, but I think that is part of what makes his growth in this section so powerful. He learns to forgive and conquer his fears (one of which included forgiving Soren).
Honorable mention goes to Peruxolo – I can’t put a finger on it, but I really like the mystery surrounding him. I want to think he’s pure evil, but I’m actually not sure. He’s fascinating and we’ve only seen him a handful of times so far.
Hopes for Part III
I am really excited to see this trio tackle their matturgrs. They all deserve happiness and to go home to their villages so I want to see them all succeed. I don’t think any of their tasks sound easy and I am afraid we might lose someone along the way (the likely candidate is Iric), so I really don’t want to see that! Fingers cross for success across the board in Part III – The Mattugrs.
