Since today is May 4th, I wanted to do some recommendations based on the plots of the Star Wars series.  Please note, these will all be YA books.

Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith

The general theme of this movie is a fallen hero.  Anakin Skywalker tries so hard to prevent Padme’s death that he ends up falling into a self-fulfilling prophesy and becoming the one thing he vowed to always fight against, a Sith.

  • Descendant of the Crane by Joan He – No spoilers, but there is definitely a character in this story that wants so desperately to do the right thing, that he/she becomes a villain in the process.
  • Burning Glass by Kathryn Purdie – In this story, we can clearly see one character travelling down a path to villany.  He tries to fight it, but eventually succumbs to his evil desires.
  • The Crown’s Fate (sequel to The Crown’s Game) by Evelyn Skye – in this sequel, we see an unexpected hero become the villain through his own actions.
