Since today is May 4th, I wanted to do some recommendations based on the plots of the Star Wars series.  Please note, these will all be YA books.

Star Wars Episode VI Return of the Jedi

As the conclusion to what I think is one of the greatest cinematic trilogies of all time, Return of the Jedi has so many amazing themes to recommend books for.  Rebellion, romance, family, redemption.  Take your pick, they’re all so good!

  • The Queen’s Rising by Rebecca Ross – this is a great story of secret royals, rebellion, romance, and most importantly, redemption.  No spoilers but our main character, Brienna, is a lot like Luke in that she finds a new family in her fellow rebels as well as discovering who her biological family is.
  • Everless by Sara Holland – two words: secret twins.  That’s the only semi-spoiler I’ll give away but the themes of family, twins, romance, and rebellion are very similar between this book and Return of the Jedi.
  • Furyborn by Claire Legrand – this book is a masterpiece.  And, it tackles some of the biggest themes that the Star Wars Saga does.  I can’t tell you too much without giving away major spoilers, but check this book out.
