This is the debut box from Fantasy Monthy. Fantasy Monthly is a newly emerging book subscription box created to be affordable and built on the idea of creating a community of like minded bookish individuals who want to discuss the books chosen for the box.
- Quote print from the featured book We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal — I loved this. Quote prints and items that have high photography potential are my favorite bookish items. They are easy to store and a great way to represent the book. This one is very pretty and I liked the quote. Sometimes, art prints or other bookish items come with quotes that I wouldn’t necessarily want to display, but I liked this one because it truly represented Nasir’s character.
- Bookmarks designed by MidnightBookGirl_ (Sasha) — I love that Fantasy Monthly featured items designed by a fellow member of the bookish community. Sasha makes lovely bookmarks and she is an avid reader (from what I’ve seen over her blog and Instagram). For me, it was nice to know that these quotes were not chosen randomly, but rather by someone who truly treasures reading. These are both pretty and not over the top. Simple and elegant. A great choice for this box.
- We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal — I really grew to love this book. Please see my full review (link above) or my read along posts for my full thoughts, but I think this was a strong start for the debut box for Fantasy Monthly. My only critism is that this book was featured in several other book boxes this month (so now I have multiple copies). Although this isn’t a signed edition, I hope that this subscription box expands in the future so that is something that could be featured.
- Discussion card and invidation to the Facebook group (not pictured) — This was probably my favorite part of this box. I love that Fantasy Monthly is cultivating a community. I loved that this box inspires you to think critically about what you just read.
Overall, this was a great debut box. I am very happy I decided to subscribe and I can’t wait to see what other items and books are chosen in the future.
